About the Role

Our independent, woman-owned agency seeks an Account Director to lead key client relationships, agency profitability and team development. This leader will play a vital role in driving strategic direction, ensuring excellence across deliverables and fostering growth for the agency and for our clients.

Location & Reporting

This is a 100% remote position, but not virtual. For collaboration and bonding, candidates should be located in or near: Boise, ID; Sacramento or Los Angeles, CA.

The Account Director serves as the senior business and strategic lead across assigned accounts, owning client relationships, revenue performance and overall portfolio direction. This role guides integrated campaigns from brief through execution, manages growth and renewals, and mentors junior team members in a small, fast-paced agency environment. The position reports to the Group Account Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior strategic lead across accounts, primary contact for client partners at all levels - including senior stakeholders - and build strong, personal relationships.
  • Lead annual planning for assigned clients, campaign planning and quarterly business reviews, translating client business objectives into clear strategic direction.
  • Develop scopes of work, budgets and renewal proposals, ensuring alignment between deliverables, staffing and financial targets.
  • Own revenue forecasting and margin performance across assigned accounts, proactively identifying and managing scope changes.
  • Guide development of integrated strategies and creative briefs in collaboration with internal teams across paid, owned and earned channels.
  • Present strategic recommendations and creative work confidently, ensuring rationale is clear, differentiated and grounded in business objectives.
  • Oversee execution across multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring timelines, quality standards and client expectations are met.
  • Directly manage and mentor Account Supervisors and Account Executives, setting clear expectations for performance, financial accountability and growth.
  • Partner with Operations, Content & Connections and Creative leadership to align resources, anticipate risks and resolve challenges efficiently.
  • Identify and secure organic growth opportunities within existing accounts, supporting renewal and financial expansion conversations.

  • Problem Solving: Calmly navigate challenges and find solutions in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Slack; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.Working knowledge of AI tools and Google Analytics.

The projected annual salary for this position is $95,000-$115,000. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to Idaho or California.
