Job Description:

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a mission-driven, results-oriented Program Manager to support the execution of high-priority initiatives for a defense sector client. In this role, you will manage key workstreams and projects that deliver measurable mission outcomes while supporting the operationalization of rapid capability delivery efforts. You will play an important role in helping implement the frameworks, governance models, decision structures, and performance metrics required to accelerate innovation and execution. This includes supporting client stakeholders on program improvements, strengthening operational processes, and ensuring teams remain focused on outcomes rather than outputs. Success in this role requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, coordinate across teams, support senior stakeholders, and translate complex challenges into structured, repeatable solutions that scale.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Client & Mission Success

  • Serve as a trusted partner to mission stakeholders supporting operational and technology-focused initiatives.
  • Support mission teams in identifying operational gaps and translating requirements into actionable project plans and delivery efforts.
  • Help design and support agile operational structures that enable rapid delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate collaboration across government personnel, technical teams, and external mission partners.
  • Support workshops, operational assessments, and stakeholder engagements to gather requirements and align priorities.
  • Continuously collect feedback and recommend improvements to workflows, delivery processes, and operational effectiveness.

Program & Project Delivery

  • Manage day-to-day execution for assigned projects or workstreams, ensuring delivery of high-quality outcomes in fast-paced environments.
  • Define, track, and report on project milestones, risks, dependencies, and performance metrics.
  • Apply agile and iterative delivery methodologies to support rapid execution and continuous adaptation.
  • Coordinate closely with technical teams, leadership, and stakeholders to align priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support rapid prototyping, testing, and operational transition activities tied to mission capabilities and technology initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-level briefings, status updates, and decision-ready materials for client leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, automate processes, and streamline delivery workflows.

Technical & Systems Support (Program-Level)

  • Partner with technical teams and systems stakeholders supporting mission and capability delivery efforts.
  • Support planning and oversight of technical integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, software development practices, and mission systems relevant to agency operations.
  • Help ensure interoperability, security, and compliance considerations are incorporated into delivery efforts.
  • Support documentation efforts including requirements gathering, operational workflows, user guidance, and lessons learned.

Operational & Contract Management

  • Support contract and task execution activities to ensure compliance with client expectations and delivery objectives.
  • Monitor delivery health, identify risks early, and support mitigation planning to maintain execution momentum.
  • Capture lessons learned and recommend scalable improvements to processes, tools, and operational workflows.
  • Support efforts to remove operational barriers and improve delivery speed, coordination, and efficiency.
  • Assist leadership with reporting, coordination, resource tracking, and overall program support activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of program management, project management, acquisition, or operational support experience in a federal government, DoD, IC, or defense-related environment.
  • Experience supporting government clients in areas such as mission operations, technology integration, acquisition, operational modernization, or capability delivery.
  • Strong understanding of program and project management principles with exposure to agile methodologies or iterative delivery models.
  • Experience managing client-facing initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Ability to operate effectively in collaborative environments with government stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on execution and mission outcomes.
