We're looking for a
3rd Class Power Engineer to join our Athabasca Oriented Strand Board (OSB) division, located in
Slave Lake, Alberta. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to manufacture a broad range of innovative forest products for customers around the world.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification.
- Extensive operating and maintenance experience.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to working safely.
- Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.
In this role you will:
- Work with a high-performance team dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fire systems, process safety equipment, and newly built thermal energy system.
- Support the planning and execution of maintenance and regulatory efforts in the energy area.
- Maintain records associated with compliance with environmental, ABSA and insurance standards.
- Develop training systems and operating procedures and training our team of Power Engineer Operators.
- Provide back-up support for the Chief Power Engineer when they are away.
