Full Job Description
Who we are looking for:

The Microsoft 365 Systems Administrator manages and supports the organization's Microsoft 365 environment, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Teams, Teams Phones and Exchange Online. The position ensures reliable communications, resolves escalated issues, maintains documentation, and supports related identity, security, and hybrid infrastructure.

What you'll be doing:

Specific duties include, but not limited to:

  • Administer Microsoft 365 tenant services, user access, licensing, administrative roles, and service configuration.
  • Manage Microsoft Teams policies, meetings, messaging, federation, client configuration, and user enablement.
  • Administer Teams Phone, including number assignments, voice routing, dial plans, emergency calling, voicemail, resource accounts, auto attendants, call queues, and caller ID policies.
  • Support Direct Routing, Session Border Controllers, carrier coordination, number porting, and call-quality troubleshooting.
  • Administer Exchange Online mailboxes, groups, permissions, accepted domains, connectors, mail flow rules, transport settings, and message tracing.
  • Support email security, quarantine, retention, archiving, and third-party email security services.
  • Use Microsoft 365 admin centers and PowerShell for administration, reporting, troubleshooting, and bulk changes.
  • Monitor service health, mail flow, call quality, and operational alerts; coordinate response to service-impacting issues.
  • Provide elevated support for Teams, calling, voicemail, Outlook, and Exchange Online incidents and requests.
  • Maintain technical documentation, procedures, configuration inventories, and change records.
  • Support identity, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS, certificates, endpoints, and network dependencies affecting Microsoft 365 services.
  • Participate in planned maintenance and after-hours support when critical communications services are affected.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Four or more years of progressive systems administration experience, including hands-on Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, and Exchange Online in a business environment.
  • Working knowledge of Direct Routing or enterprise telephony, hybrid identity, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS, certificates, and mail routing.
  • Experience using PowerShell for Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Microsoft certification related to Microsoft 365, Teams, messaging, identity, or security is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across cloud services, identity, endpoints, networks, carriers, and third-party integrations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and nontechnical users.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, collaborate across teams, and respond effectively to incidents.
  • Attention to detail, sound change-control practices, customer focus, and commitment to secure and supportable solutions. Excellent communication and skills (oral and written)
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R's pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
