What You Will Do:

The Aftermarket Operations team is looking for an Operations Cell Leader for the Geared Turbo Fan Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (GTF MRO) line operating in West Palm Beach (WPB) supporting the PW1100G-JM commercial engine. This role will be responsible for supporting the induction and tear down of engines. The selected individual will lead a team of bargaining unit hourly employees who are responsible for supporting the various areas of the GTF engines overhauled in WPB. The selected candidate will also be expected to effectively provide clear communication to leadership, peers, and subordinates. Competencies that are critical for success in this role are Customer Focus, Adaptability, Strategic Thinking, and Communication. The individual must embrace continuous improvement and be able to thrive in a highly visible, dynamic setting.

This role reports to the Operations Manager and will be supporting 2nd operations. Typical working hours are 3:00PM - 12:00AM, Monday - Friday. Training is available and may be required on our 1st shift for up to 3 months.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Operation team that ultimately supports desired financial goals and engine return dates.
  • Collaborate with the Operations and support teams to establish work schedules considering customer requirements, resource availability, and other top priorities.
  • Proactively generate effective solutions for Quality process control and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Support process implementation and refinement activities throughout all process gates.
  • Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly.
  • Ensure full involvement in continuous improvement initiatives tools to improve production, performance, and reduce overall operating cost.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Advanced degree and 6+ months of experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Business Management, Engineering, Military, Aerospace or Aftermarket industry; OR Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate's degree and 4+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 6+ years of relevant industry experience.


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Degree in STEM field; Engineering, Business or Supply Chain.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate (A&P license)
  • Personnel management experience, ideally within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment.
  • Proven ability to lead mentoring, coaching, developing talent and motivate teams to achieve business goals.
  • Ability to plan projects and use written/verbal/analytical/org skills to influence business objectives.
  • Aftermarket Aerospace and Overhaul and Repair (MRO) industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices, quality standards, processes and procedures
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs, SAP ERP, and Solumina MES.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
