Position Summary

As part of the Global Credit platform, Carlyle Infrastructure Credit focuses on origination, structuring, and management of global infrastructure credit opportunities for its institutional clients that seek diversification of their credit portfolios. These credit investments offer financing solutions across the capital structure - from investment grade senior debt to below investment grade junior and mezzanine debt - to Carlyle's network of project sponsors, banks and advisors active in the power, energy, transportation, water / waste treatment, digital, and social infrastructure sectors. Carlyle Infrastructure Credit has 16 investment professionals with $8.0 billion of assets under management as of Q1 2026.

Responsibilities

The Associate will be expected to integrate and work with the team to develop skills and the ability to identify and evaluate opportunities and develop internal and external relationships. They are expected to, as part of a team:
• Support the execution of infrastructure credit transactions across screening, diligence, structuring, documentation, and closing
• Conduct in-depth due diligence on prospective investments, including review of commercial, technical, financial, legal, and market-related diligence materials to assess key merits and risks
• Develop and maintain financial models, including downside cases, sensitivity analyses, debt sizing, returns analysis, and covenant / liquidity scenarios
• Review, analyze, and support negotiation of key commercial terms and transaction documentation
• Perform relative value, precedent transaction, and comparable company / credit analysis to evaluate investment attractiveness
• Prepare Investment Committee materials and responses to Investment Committee, investor, or client requests
• Conduct market and sector research across established and emerging infrastructure sectors, technologies, regulatory frameworks, and competitive dynamics
• Support ongoing portfolio monitoring, including review of operating performance, compliance, valuation inputs, and material credit developments
• Assist with fundraising and investor relations workstreams, including sample cash flow models, RFP responses, portfolio data requests, and other related materials
• Leverage AI tools to enhance research, analysis, document review, and workflow efficiency while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality

Qualifications
• Pre-MBA candidate or recent MBA graduate with exceptional academic credentials and at least 2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, project finance, private credit, infrastructure investing, or a related field, with a demonstrated interest in infrastructure private credit
• Outstanding quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills, including experience building or reviewing complex operating, debt sizing, valuation, and returns models
• Strong investment judgment, intellectual curiosity, and ability to synthesize large volumes of commercial, technical, legal, financial, and market diligence into clear conclusions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise, persuasive investment materials and present recommendations to senior stakeholders
• High level of ownership, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with deal teams, advisors, management teams, financing parties, and other stakeholders
• Proficiency with AI tools and willingness to apply technology thoughtfully to improve research, analysis, and workflow efficiency while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
• Buy-side infrastructure credit experience is a plus

Benefits/Compensation

The compensation range for this role is specific to New York City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.

The anticipated base salary for this role is $120,000.

In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
