Job Summary

Reporting to the Real Time Operations IT Manager, the Solution Architect designs network solutions that support business functions by evaluating user needs, goals, budgets, and existing systems. The role focuses on improving processes through automation and innovative strategies.
Job Responsibilities
Align with IT's strategic direction and the OT Product Portfolio; contribute to roadmaps and identify technologies that improve customer experience and simplify the environment.
Provide leadership and guidance on application and system architecture, serving as a technical expert.
Develop solution architecture frameworks supporting core business functions and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
Document system processes, resolve common issues, and recommend enhancements.
Understand customer business practices and communicate key insights to product teams.
Build strong vendor partnerships, negotiate agreements, and ensure SLAs and contracts support product needs.
Coordinate benchmarking and best-practice efforts with external organizations.
Maintain documentation and comply with OT system standards.
Architect, design, and implement secure, complex network designs.
Expand network automation through design, configuration, documentation, and training.
Mentor technical and non-technical team members.
Evaluate existing solutions, research alternatives, and ensure proper integration with current systems.
Create network solutions following disciplined processes, including change management, security, and quality standards.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Job Specific Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; 5+ years IT networking experience (9+ without degree).
Scripting skills in Python, Ansible, or similar for network automation.
Experience leading teams through projects and enhancements.
Ability to identify needed features and improvements.
Proven experience supporting large, complex projects and aligning solutions with OT architecture.
4+ years coaching or supporting other architects/team members.
Strong communication skills with peers, vendors, leadership, and customers.
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and perform assigned work proficiently.
Effective interaction with external groups and customers.
Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

Automation experience.
Knowledge of monitoring tools (SolarWinds, ServiceNow, FMC, etc.).
