It was formed by the merger of Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio on July 29, 2008. The company has a market capitalization of $25.6 billion as of 2021. It broadcasts music, news, sports, and entertainment programming, primarily through its subscription-based Sirius XM Radio service; it also streams similar content over the Internet.
