Penguin Random House is an American multinational conglomerate publishing company formed in 2013 from the merger of Random House (owned by German media conglomerate Bertelsmann) and Penguin Group (owned by British publishing company Pearson plc). Penguin Random House is headquartered in New York City, with operations in 20 countries across five continents. The company publishes over 15,000 new titles annually under its 300 imprints, including Ballantine Books, Del Rey, Dial Press, and Crown Publishing Group. Penguin Random House is the world's largest English-language trade book publisher, and its imprints have won numerous literary awards, including the Nobel Prize in Literature, the Pulitzer Prize, and the National Book Award.
