There’s now a job for taco lovers that pays $100K

Taco lovers, rejoice! A six-figure job awaits you.

McCormick & Company is recruiting its first-ever director of taco relations, a part-time, four-month job that pays $100,000 to help McCormick “develop innovative and delish taco recipes.”

One lucky worker will get hands-on experience helping McCormick’s marketing division, with responsibilities including developing recipes, content creation, and traveling the country in search of the latest taco trends, among other duties.

According to the company’s website, the candidate will work about 20 hours per week, all remotely. The job runs from September through December, and payment is distributed in $25,000 monthly installments.

While the position is largely remotely, the travel — which McCormick estimates to be “10% of the time” — will be to the company’s headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland, and other taco locations in the U.S.

For the social media responsibilities, McCormick said the candidates will have to engage with people across the country to ask them “hard-hitting taco questions,” like which taco shells you prefer, or even what the future of tacos look like.

“The ultimate responsibility for the Director of Taco Relations is to bring together and unify all taco lovers, young and old, in the name of tacos,” the company said.

Candidates for the position must be able to sign a contract by the end of August 2021. They will work up to 20 hours per week, according to the job posting, and must be 21 years or older and a resident in the U.S. And don’t worry if you don’t have previous experience working with tacos; it’s not a job requirement.
