Healthcare is booming: Here are the Top 15 highest-paying companies hiring now

A new report found that 69% of employers are struggling to find talent to fill open roles — the highest rate in more than a decade. The healthcare industry, which is tenth on the list of hardest-to-fill roles, is in a particularly interesting position.

In the healthcare industry, there is a large and ever-widening gap in the number of people being educated to be in healthcare and the number of jobs that will be available in the future, according to Misty Frost, CEO of Carrus.

According to Frost, the future of healthcare is to “create candidates” instead of attracting them. While hospitals are not traditionally geared towards training employees, Frost recommends that it would be beneficial for them to do so — both for entry-level roles and promotions.

For candidates looking to break into the healthcare industry, Frost recommends going after certifications on your own. While hard skills and certifications are extremely important, Frost emphasizes the importance of “soft skills and being workplace ready.”

Frost recommends that healthcare workers receive training on soft skills, and mentions that Carrus trains professionals on the interview process, what to expect once they enter the workforce, and even how to communicate with colleagues and managers.

“The important thing is that opportunities are vast for people who are entering the field right now, more so than they have been in years,” Frost said.

Hearing about all these opportunities made us excited to delve into healthcare positions that are open right now, so Ladders compiled a list of $100K+ jobs using data from its continuously updated database of high-paying jobs.
