Adding this to your bedtime routine may help you lose weight

Well, this is great news if you love to have a little wine nightcap before bed. A new study finds that having some vino before bed may actually help you lose weight.

The study, from Washington State University, looks into the power of resveratrol, a polyphenol. It is found in red wine and in addition to preventing damage to blood vessels and the formation of blood clots, fending off heart disease, reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol … and it also can help you lose weight.

It converts excess white fat into the much better calorie-burning beige fat (the prettiest of all fats.) Animal Sciences Professor Min Du and visiting scientist Songbo Wang demonstrated through experimentation that mice fed a diet with 0.1% resveratrol were able to turn their excess white fat into beige fat.

Another study also found that drinking wine at night could also help reduce pre-bed snacking which could also help with weight loss.

Now you could just eat some berries and grapes as they have resveratrol but that would be way less fun.
