Risk managers are professionals who identify, assess, and report all potential operational and financial risks. These potential risks are then measured against the potential gains of that strategy. Assessing and calculating risk can involve much statistical work and other complex calculations, which probably covers most of the hours spent in risk management. Risk is not limited to one area, but tends to cover any and all potential risks to the company. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management, as well as a degree in management in the chosen specialty.
