As a whole, Quantitative Analysts, or “quants” as they’re usually referred to, spend a lot of their professional time creating mathematical models to offer insights into highly complex financial systems connected to financial markets. Data is gathered on trends and behaviors within those markets. Quants are employed across industries, including wealth management, investment and commercial banks, insurance companies, accountancy businesses, hedge funds and more. Investment strategies and decision-making of all kinds is informed by their work. Qualifications include related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
