Industrial Engineers work to improve methods of production across industries by evaluating and analyzing current methods of production, highlighting waste and providing methods to improve efficiency. All manufacturing and production processes, as well as all company resources and limitations, are taken into account by the industrial engineer. Responsibilities include innovation, design and reconfiguring. Qualifications include an understanding of many engineering disciplines, specialized certifications, a 4-year bachelor’s degree, and ideally a master’s degree in a related field.
