Description
ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to own the growth agenda for North America. North America is Xe's largest market and carries the largest share of our marketing investment, across both the businesses we serve and our high-value consumer customers. You will own the regional marketing strategy, the plan behind it, and the two numbers the region is held to: registrations and CAC.
This is a strategy and orchestration role rather than a channel execution role. Xe's global marketing team holds the specialist capability - brand, paid acquisition, digital experience, lifecycle, product marketing, and analytics - and delivers against regional briefs. Your value is in deciding what the US and Canada actually need, securing it, and making sure it lands. You will lead a Digital Marketing Manager and a Growth Analyst in region.
You will report to the VP of Marketing, with a dotted line to the Managing Director for North America. You sit inside global marketing, and you are the region's advocate within it. Both relationships matter: global marketing sets the strategy and standards your plan is built inside, and the region sets the commercial ambition your plan has to serve. You are accountable to both for a single plan, not two.
North America is also where our marketing spend is most concentrated, so the discipline you bring to efficiency, testing, and honest measurement will shape decisions well beyond your own region.
OUR PRINCIPLES
AMBITION - We dream big, try things out and always ask "why not?" and "what if?" We're ambitious in our thinking and our delivery.
RESPONSIBILITY - We get involved, bring our perspective, and are always open to new ideas. We take personal responsibility.
COMMUNITY - We value a sense of belonging, trusting each other and encouraging authenticity. We contribute to our community.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with Global Marketing
You sit in the global marketing team and North America is your market. Regional plans at Xe are built inside the global marketing strategy, not alongside it. In practice that means:
• Your regional priorities, target segments, and channel choices are derived from the global segment strategy, brand positioning, and channel plan - not set independently.
• Global marketing owns brand positioning, messaging architecture, and visual identity. You own local adaptation within those standards, and you make the case for an exception when the market genuinely needs one.
• You work through the global channel leads rather than building parallel capability in region: you brief them, prioritise North American demand into their roadmaps, and hold them to delivery.
• You adopt the global measurement framework and metric definitions, so North America, the other regions, and the centre are reading the same numbers.
• You are the region's voice inside global marketing: when North America needs something the global plan does not currently allow for, you make that case rather than quietly working around it.
• Where regional commercial priorities and global strategy diverge, you surface the trade-off early to the VP of Marketing and the Managing Director rather than resolving it locally.
What You'll Do
• Own the North America marketing strategy, the annual and quarterly plan, and the regional OKRs across the US and Canada, built from the global segment, brand, and channel strategy.
• Own regional registrations and regional CAC, and the forecast behind both, with a clear view of what is driving each.
• Steward the largest regional marketing investment in the business: set the efficiency bar, push for incrementality testing over last-click comfort, and reallocate when the evidence says to.
• Decide the regional priorities - which segments, industries, corridors, and customer types matter most - and make the case for them in global planning and budget allocation.
• Own the US and Canada corridor opportunity, including USD flows out of Canada, one of the largest single opportunities in the business.
• Brief the global channel teams on what North America needs, prioritise regional demand into their roadmaps, and hold the work to the standard and timing the region requires.
• Partner with the North America sales team on the business segment, translating the demand plan into pipeline support and enablement they can actually use.
• Own how Xe shows up against the competition in region - search, comparison, and review surfaces - working with the global brand and acquisition teams on comparison content and competitor conquesting.
• Direct local adaptation of campaigns, messaging, offers, and web content for North American audiences, holding the global brand line.
• Lead and develop your in-region team, and make sure their work connects into the global digital and analytics functions rather than running in isolation.
• Keep regional stakeholders aligned to the plan - the Managing Director, Sales, Operations, and Compliance - and clear the in-market blockers that slow delivery.
• Own the regional performance narrative in both directions: a monthly review with the North America Managing Director and a quarterly review with marketing leadership, using the shared global reporting standard.
• Feed market, customer, and competitor insight back into global marketing so the global strategy improves with what North America is learning.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• 7+ years in growth, performance, or regional marketing, ideally in financial services, payments, fintech, or another multi-market business.
• You have owned an acquisition number end to end - volume, CAC, and payback - at meaningful spend, and you can build a forecast and defend it.
• You are rigorous about measurement: comfortable with attribution's limits, and experienced running incrementality or geo tests rather than trusting platform-reported numbers.
• You have delivered through a matrix, influencing peer teams and senior commercial stakeholders without direct authority over either, and you are comfortable being accountable to a functional leader while a regional P&L owner depends on your results.
• You are comfortable marketing to both business and consumer audiences, or you have a clear grasp of how differently they discover, evaluate, and buy.
• Deep working knowledge of the US market and its channel landscape; experience with Canada is a strong plus.
• You have adapted global campaigns and brand platforms into a specific market, and you have the judgment to know when a market genuinely needs an exception and when it simply wants one.
• You are a strong communicator who can put one plan in front of a Managing Director and a global channel lead and get both to commit to it, without writing two different versions of it.
• You have managed and developed a small team, and you enjoy building capability rather than only delivering output.
• Experience working with a sales team on an SME or mid-market motion is a plus.
• Experience in cross-border payments, FX, remittances, or financial services is a plus.
