OverviewUnder the direction of a Radiologist, performs diagnostic radiological procedures.
Responsibilities- Performs and obtains high quality radiographs on all patients (i.e. In-Patients, Emergency Room Patients or Private Out Patients); recognizes the need for and utilizes lead sheeting where appropriate in accordance with departmental policies.
- As required, transports patients to and from X-Ray rooms.
- Assists the Radiologist with hard-to-move patients when requested.
- Utilizes all X-ray equipment permitted within the scope of their license and within the realm of their training.
- Patient care responsibilities are delivered with knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
QualificationsEducation:Graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology; ARRT;
Current NYS license as a Registered Radiological Technologist or Registry eligible, must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.
Current BCLS Certificate required (either American Red Cross or American Heart Association). New employees will be required to produce a current BCLS certificate within 6 months from date of hire.
Current ARRT Certificate is required (as per the terms of the Maimonides-1199 Agreement dated May 10, 2013).
Experience:At least 950 hours of clinical experience / rotation.
Skills:Good interpersonal skills.
Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
Pay RangeUSD $52.00 - USD $52.00 /Hr.
