Job Summary: The X-Ray Technologist will work in a collaborative environment to provide superior patient care. The incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of X-ray images, and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in the X-ray area.
Job Responsibilities: - Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff.
- Perform X-rays and general radiological procedures:
- Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided. Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and, at the radiologist's discretion, the referring physician.
- Position patient and select appropriate options to ensure best-case imaging.
- Observe patient while in the X-ray area for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction.
- Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
- Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate.
- Assist radiologist with fluoroscopic studies.
- Assist physician in administering opaque media.
- Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data: schedule PM, perform QA, maintain records required for and participate in inspections.
- Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records.
- Address any service calls and follow up as required or as directed, based on operational need.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications: - High school graduate or equivalency.
- A minimum of 6 months• relevant experience.
- NYS License, ARRT certified.
- Current BLS required.
- Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to deescalate stressful situations.
- Candidate must demonstrate strong aptitude for detail, flexibility, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of facility policies and procedures.
- Basic proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email systems, etc.
- Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices (multiple sites and flexible schedule).
Hourly Rate Ranges: $42.03 - $54.93 Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
