The Enterprise Director of Quality at WVU Health System plays a pivotal role in developing and executing a vision for world-class quality and safety. This leadership position is responsible for planning and overseeing the implementation of key clinical quality and safety initiatives, collaborating with leadership teams, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization. The Enterprise Director of Quality will drive continuous improvement, establish reporting structures, and ensure consistent oversight to achieve excellence in quality and safety standards. The Enterprise Director of Quality is a key driver of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence in healthcare quality, safety and patient experience, contributing to the organization's mission of providing the highest standard of care to patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field. EXPERIENCE: 1. Five (5) years of relevant experience in healthcare quality and safety management. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field. 2. Certification in Healthcare Quality (e.g., CPHQ). EXPERIENCE: 1. Seven or more years of progressive experience in healthcare quality and safety management. 2. Experience in strategic planning and leadership development. 3. Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies. Clinical Quality and Safety Initiatives: 3 Plan and oversee the implementation of key clinical quality and safety initiatives defined by Executive Leadership. Leadership Development and Training: 3 Provide leadership development and training to quality leaders at other hospitals within the system. Strategic Planning: 3 Assist in strategic planning to align quality and safety goals with organizational objectives. Performance Improvement (PI) Model: 3 Develop a system-wide PI model to accelerate and sustain results. Collaboration and Goal Setting: 3 Collaborate with nursing leaders and other key stakeholders to establish short-term and long-term goals for key clinical outcomes. Structure and Process Development: 3 Further develop the structure and process for system-wide quality and safety initiatives. Onsite Support: 3 Provide onsite support to system hospitals during the implementation or standardization of processes. Reporting and Oversight: 3 Ensure consistent reporting and oversight for the system's quality and safety strategic plan. Knowledge Sharing: 3 Establish a structure and process to share key learnings across the organization. Safety Culture Leadership: 3 Actively lead efforts to foster a culture of safety throughout WVU Health System. Board Education and Retreats: 3 Assist with board education, quality retreats, team building, and related initiatives. Vizient Reporting and Benchmarking: 3 Provide ongoing direction and oversight to Vizient reporting and benchmarking activities. Risk Management Collaboration: 3 Collaborate closely with Risk Management to identify and prioritize top system risks related to quality and safety. Data Analysis and Monitoring: 3 Analyze data related to clinical quality and safety outcomes. 3 Develop and maintain performance metrics and dashboards to track progress. Regulatory Compliance: 3 Stay current with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. 3 Ensure that the organization remains compliant with all relevant requirements. Root Cause Analysis: 3 Lead or facilitate root cause analysis investigations for significant quality and safety incidents. 3 Implement corrective and preventive actions based on findings. Patient Feedback and Satisfaction: 3 Gather and analyze patient feedback to identify areas for improvement in patient care and satisfaction. 3 Collaborate with patient advocacy teams to address concerns. Collaborative Partnerships: 3 Foster collaborative relationships with clinical departments, quality improvement teams, and other stakeholders. 3 Coordinate efforts to achieve quality and safety goals. Budget Oversight: 3 Manage budget allocations for quality and safety initiatives, ensuring efficient resource utilization. Continuous Education: 3 Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in healthcare quality and safety. 3 Promote a culture of continuous learning among quality leaders and staff. Communication and Reporting: 3 Communicate regularly with Executive Leadership and the Board on quality and safety performance. 3 Prepare and present reports highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
