Full-Time Director Quality Management

Location: 3400 Civic Center Blvd

Department: Radiation Oncology

Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm

Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for managing all aspects of the quality management system and culture of safety for the Department at main campus and all locations in the network. Fulfill the responsibilities of Master Improvement Advisor. This position directly manages a team of three people and indirectly oversees all quality initiative team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Defining and directing initiatives to support and improve the safety culture, process workflow, patient and employee experience.
  • Leading development of the quality management system to support desired accreditation and excellence levels
  • Establishing and implementing an approach to implement the Surgery quality program at all locations.
  • Establishing, implementing, and sharing quality management data and quality improvement data.
  • Work in partnership with the Health System to align on quality and safety efforts and ensure gaps are identified and addressed.
  • Work in partnership with Health System quality and safety initiatives to share best practices.
  • Developing and staffing departmental quality committees as well as appropriate CPUP, HUP or other health system meetings.
  • Employee development.
  • Under the priorities established in the Strategic Plan, formalize and manage the quality program at all locations
  • Collaborate with leadership and frontliners to prioritize problems solving.
  • Guide quality and safety teams to plan initiatives, stay on track, maintain pace
  • Develops and maintains a program for process analysis and improvement
  • Works with clinical partners to review and monitor QA procedures and process improvement.
  • Establish and monitor quality control checks, including policies and procedures, which guide and support the provision of services.
  • Promptly investigates serious safety events and quality concerns, and provides PI support for process redesign / corrective action.
  • Applies PI methods and tools appropriately.
  • Provides PI support for continuous survey readiness as needed.
  • Guiding the development of capability in the Organization (Coaching, Mentoring, Teaching)
  • Participates in health system committees and initiatives
  • Serves as the liaison between Department and CPUP compliance division.
  • Present quality and safety work internally and externally to promote best practices.
  • Utilizes the clinical data from various databases and meetings to make process improvements and to study clinical outcomes.
  • Develops and maintains clinical QA reporting
  • Generates reports to include patient outcomes as needed, measuring and comparing physicians within the group and against the national averages. Educate physicians on the reporting results.
  • Develops data acquisition policies, tools and processes and reviews them regularly for potential process improvement opportunities.
  • Participates in the further development of the ACC quality and compliance measures.
  • Lead development of department performance reports
  • Works with the mid-level practitioners to ensure accurate and complete data is collected at multiple locations.

Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree Healthcare, Nursing or Computer Science (Required)
  • 6+ years Minimum of 6 years of quality assurance and process improvement/management experience, preferably in a healthcare related field. Must have knowledge and experience in quality improvement models, especially Lean/Six Sigma, the IHI Model for Improvement. Must be proficient with various types of computer/electronic tools to support the position and department's objectives. Must be proficient in process improvement analysis. (Required)
