Your New Role...

CNN Newsource is seeking a dynamic Writer/Producer to join the Money Matters business news team. Money Matters, anchored by Maribel Aber, is a personality-driven business news product that turns the day's biggest economic headlines into clear, relatable stories for everyday viewers. We're looking for a producer who can identify the most important business stories of the day and write fast, clean scripts that support Maribel in breaking down complex economic news for a general audience. The role also requires someone who can contribute ideas to help evolve and elevate the product. The ideal candidate is passionate about business and consumer journalism, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excels at managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Strong client relations skills and a keen editorial eye are essential for success in this role.

Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Research, write, and produce timely and topical stories for the Money Matters financial live reports, ensuring relevance and audience engagement.
  • Partner closely with the Money Matters anchor to deliver live reports that are accurate, compelling, and engaging.
  • Exercise strong editorial judgment in selecting stories that align with the local news affiliate goals and interests.
  • Provide both editorial and technical support to ensure the seamless execution of each live report.
  • Collaborate closely with Newsource clients to understand and meet their expectations for live financial coverage.


Qualifications & Experience...
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication or like field of study preferred.
  • 5 years or above editorial experience in broadcast news; producing, writing, etc.
  • 24/7 availability and flexibility.
  • Leads by example and champions organizational strategies and goals.
  • Allocates time and resources effectively.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $94,500.00 - $175,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
