Position Overview:Responsible for the management of workers' compensation claims for assigned self-insured affiliates. Manages claims from time reported until resolution. Works in a team environment with technical specialists, supervisor, claim manager and affiliate representatives. Partners with medical providers, and risk management professionals to ensure integration of claim issues.
Job Description:
Candidate must come on site 1 day per week plus for meetings, etc. for a minimum of 5 days a month.
EDUCATION:Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:- SIP Certificate exam within 36 months of hire
- Successful completion of an IEA Certificate within 18 months of hire
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:- 5 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of California Workers' Compensation law.
- Must have on the job and classroom training, experience and knowledge surrounding California's Labor Code, estimating workers' compensation costs, permanent disability rating and medical terminology.
- Proven oral and written communication skills. Communications must reflect knowledge of grammar in English composition and acceptable business letter format, as well as, industry jargon.
- Ability to ensure compliance with Standard Work and Claims Management Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work independently, maintain a balance of work priorities and complete assignments within established timeframes.
- Analytical skills, the ability to draw valid conclusions, and formulate sound recommendations.
- Organizational and planning skills, and the ability to manage and coordinate the activities related to an assigned caseload and the payment of workers' compensation claims.
- Ability to work with diverse health and administrative professionals at all organizational levels.
- Computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Pay Range is $94,848.00 to $142,272.00 / annual salary
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
