Workday Reporting Developer
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Reporting Developer to build and maintain reporting solutions within Workday Financials and support financial reporting, analytics, and system-related initiatives. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop scalable reporting solutions, maintain data integrity, and support ongoing system enhancements and conversions.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Workday configuration and financial reporting experience, understands accounting and finance principles, and can translate business requirements into effective reporting and system solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain Workday reports using Report Writer, Advanced Reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
  • Support Workday Financials configuration, including worktags, configuration changes, maintenance, and related system functionality.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting solutions that support business and accounting needs.
  • Gather and document business requirements for reporting, configuration, and system-related initiatives.
  • Analyze, test, and validate financial data and system changes to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Support configuration management and service requests related to Workday Financials.
  • Manage worktag-related activities and configuration updates.
  • Investigate reporting or system issues and support incident resolution.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and appropriate access across Workday reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and technical teams on system conversions, enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Support implementation, testing, validation, and user adoption activities.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and process documentation.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
  • Create dashboards and analytical outputs that make complex financial information easier to understand.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience specifically with Workday Financials and financial reporting development.
  • Workday certification required.
  • Hands-on experience configuring Workday, including worktags, configuration maintenance, and related financial functionality.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance concepts and principles.
  • Experience developing financial reports and analytical solutions within Workday.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting/analytical skills.
  • Experience working with large, multidimensional datasets from multiple sources.

Typical Day

The position operates Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Central Time. Limited overtime may be required for incident or maintenance activities, with occasional weekend support possible.
