Workday PSA & Financials Data Engineer

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop growing subject matter expertise in Workday technical capabilities including security design, reporting, data management, and integrations across functional areas (PSA & FINS).
  • Design, document, and communicate end-to-end Workday data conversion solutions, encompassing data transformations, reporting, APIs, and associated business processes with SME support.
  • Deliver technical documentation such as process maps, data flow diagrams, and solution design artifacts, and continuously improve documentation quality over time.
  • Deploy technical solutions efficiently, meeting agreed-upon timelines and delivering results in a timely manner.
  • Proactively forecast and manage workload, demonstrating strong self-management and initiative as a self-starter.
  • Effectively juggle multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high standards of quality and performance across all deliverables.
  • Participate in Change Management processes, risk assessments, and aiding in the decision-making process.
  • Lead and execute data analysis, transformation, and load activities to support Workday operations.
  • Partner with business analysts and functional leads to evaluate the feasibility of technical and business requirements.
  • Support issue investigation and escalation by partnering with cross team engineers on Workday design decisions.
  • Collaborate with Workday Security Team to validate that data management aligns with access policies, SOC controls, and data privacy standards.
  • Ensure that technical designs incorporate role-based access, audit controls, and user provisioning best practices.
  • Work closely with integration developers, data engineers, and platform teams to deliver aligned and cohesive solutions.
  • Act as a data SME supporting business and IT, facilitating informed solutioning across stakeholders.
  • Serve as Ambassador to the Data & Architecture team members acting as a point of escalation and SME for the Workday Platform.
  • Use Workday data loading tools and EIBs, SQL, and ETL methods to manage customer, project, workforce, and financial data across Workday and connected systems.
  • Support M&A, reimplementation, and enterprise systems initiatives by applying consistent data-conversion standards, controls, and documentation.

 

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working with Workday in a systems, integrations, data conversion, or analyst capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday PSA and Financials (FINS) modules.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday reporting and data management.
  • Experience managing data migrations and phased deployments.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Workday data load and management tools including APIs and EIBs.
  • Experience supporting technology integration during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage assigned work independently, and collaborate effectively on cross-functional projects.
  • Experience creating technical documentation (process maps, SOPs, data flow diagrams).

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with ETL tools and SQL
  • Experience with Workday Prism
  • Advanced relational database experience.
  • Experience with Workday configurable security configuration and best practices
  • Solid understanding of compliance and security frameworks (process controls, data privacy).
  • Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel, data visualization, or connected platforms supporting CRM, client intake, contracts, or resource management.
  • Workday certification in PSA, Financials, Reporting, Integrations, Prism, or Data Conversion.

 


Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $118,800 - $161,900. For Washington residents, Illinois residents, New York residents, and Southern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $130,700 - $178,100. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $136,700 - $186,200. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
