Full Job Description
William Everett is seeking a PMO Lead to provide senior program leadership and Workday subject-matter expertise for a large-scale ERP implementation, utilizing Workday and Workforce. This role serves as the primary oversight authority for the implementation, ensuring strong governance, risk management, and alignment between the client, its internal departments and the System Integrator (SI). This position focuses on strategic leadership, executive engagement, and Workday expertise.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead PMO governance, escalation, and executive reporting.
  • Lead the project management office and oversee the work and deliverables of the PMO office of up to 7-10 team members.
  • Hybrid role (on site required as needed)
  • Serve as the client's primary Workday SME
  • Represent the client's requirements and decisions across all SI-led activities, including planning, design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Oversee program risks, issues, dependencies, and readiness for major milestones.
  • Review and validate project plans, solution designs, testing outcomes, and cutover readiness.
  • Facilitate Executive Steering Committee meetings and deliver clear status reporting.
  • Ensure security, risk, controls, data conversion, training, and support models are reviewed and approved prior to go-live.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience leading large-scale ERP implementations.
  • 8+ years experience working within Workday implementations
  • 5+ years of Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll or payroll integrations.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Program Manager or PMO Lead (not solely a task-level project manager).
  • Experience working in public-sector or highly regulated environments strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with unionized workforces, complex labor rules, and governance structures is highly desirable.
  • Strong executive communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP or similar project/program management certification
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Workday certifications or equivalent implementation experience
  • Experience with workforce software implementations

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

  • Local in the Chicagoland area
