Job Description
  • The Principal Workday Analyst serves as a subject matter expert responsible for evaluating, designing, and implementing solutions that optimize the effectiveness of the Workday platform. This role is directly involved in system evaluation and analysis to drive operational improvements within the Finance vertical.
  • Responsibilities include reporting and analysis, business process configuration, as well as maintaining appropriate documentation and governance models.
  • This position completes business requirements documentation outlining both functional needs and the corresponding technical solutions. The role also develops change request models and presents them to change control boards for feedback, approval, and design modifications as needed. The analyst designs dashboards and other data visualization tools to support business users.
  • The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, along with the intellectual curiosity necessary to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. The analyst must be able to analyze, consolidate, and present large volumes of data in a clear and actionable format that supports effective decision-making. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
  • The position provides support for, or manages, analysts working within the Workday platform. It includes mentoring analysts to deliver strong technical and analytical solutions to business challenges. Responsibilities also include reviewing business requirements for accuracy, providing level-of-work estimates for projects, and facilitating project execution to ensure timely completion.
  • The candidate must possess expert-level functional knowledge of both operational and technical aspects within their area of specialization. This expertise enables them to independently design solutions, troubleshoot issues, and resolve complex system problems that are reported.
  • This role requires effective collaboration with customers, peers, technical teams, and operations staff to assist in solving complex business challenges.

Additional Qualifications
Work Experience
  • 6+ years of Workday sustainment experience in configuration or as an implementer, preferably with a Workday Partner.
  • 6+ years of business operations experience within the relevant vertical area.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required, or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Certifications and Additional Background
  • Workday Pro certification or Implementation certification through a Workday Partner is a plus.
  • Willingness to obtain Workday Pro certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience identifying, designing, testing, and deploying business operations processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Previous experience with a Workday Implementation Partner and/or experience within Healthcare or University environments is preferred.
