Full Job Description
Job Summary The Workday HCM Technical Lead is responsible for leading the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, and support of Workday Human Capital Management solutions. This role serves as a technical expert across Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits, partnering with HR, Payroll, Total Rewards, Compliance, and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient, and compliant solutions. Key Responsibilities • Lead the technical design, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of Workday HCM solutions. • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits. • Evaluate business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday configurations and business process solutions. • Provide leadership and governance for system enhancements, releases, and adoption of new Workday functionality. • Establish and maintain configuration standards, technical documentation, and operational procedures. • Lead enterprise-scale Workday implementations and transformation initiatives. • Configure and optimize Workday business processes, security, calculated fields, condition rules, reporting, and tenant management. • Manage production support activities and enhancement backlogs. • Partner with HR, Payroll, Total Rewards, Compliance, and IT stakeholders to deliver business solutions. • Mentor team members and provide technical guidance on Workday configuration and solution design. • Support change control processes and ensure configuration changes follow established standards. • Support annual compensation cycles, benefits open enrollment, and other strategic HR technology initiatives. • Collaborate with integration teams on Workday integrations, EIBs, Studio, Core Connectors, and APIs. • Ensure Workday solutions align with HR, payroll, benefits, compliance, security, and operational requirements. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business, or a related field. • 7+ years of Workday experience with significant hands-on configuration expertise. • 5+ years of experience supporting multiple Workday HCM modules. • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale Workday implementations or transformation initiatives. • Deep hands-on configuration experience with Workday Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits. • Strong understanding of Workday business processes and configuration. • Strong understanding of Workday security framework. • Experience with calculated fields and condition rules. • Strong Workday reporting experience. • Experience with tenant management and change control processes. • Experience managing production support and enhancement backlogs. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications • Workday Pro certifications in HCM, Payroll, Compensation, and/or Benefits. • Experience with Workday integrations, EIBs, Studio, Core Connectors, and APIs. • Experience supporting annual compensation and benefits open enrollment programs. • Knowledge of HR, payroll, and benefits compliance requirements. • Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments. • Experience with Agile delivery and product operating models.
