JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Associate in Wholesale Credit Risk Administration (WCRA) supporting the Commercial Banking Credit Risk – Commercial and Specialized Industries (C&SI) and Asset Based Lending (ABL) teams, you will play a key role in supporting process improvements, providing governance and oversight of operational processes, and assisting stakeholders to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls. You will collaborate with Credit Risk, Control Management, Wholesale Lending Services (WLS), Business Management, Credit Product and Strategy teams to support risk management excellence and operational effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the C&SI and ABL Credit Risk management team in advancing business priorities and objectives under the guidance of senior team members, escalating issues and decision points as needed.
  • Assist with operational oversight activities for ABL processes and systems within WLS, executing assigned tasks under direction and promptly escalating exceptions or anomalies to senior team members.
  • Support process improvement and automation initiatives by documenting currentstate steps, identifying pain points, and assisting with solution testing and rollout under guidance, escalating blockers, dependencies, or policy impacts.
  • Monitor credit process metrics and data quality indicators; assist with data remediation tasks following established procedures and control standards, escalating material data issues, breaks, or trends to senior team members.
  • Participate on behalf of C&SI and ABL Credit Risk in workstreams addressing data management, regulatory topics, new processes, and technology enhancements as a contributing member; support UAT, training, and user feedback collection under senior guidance, escalating crossimpacts and risks.
  • Help identify process gaps and contribute to rootcause analysis by gathering evidence and drafting observations; propose solution options for senior review and assist with remediation execution, escalating issues that require prioritization or policy interpretation.
  • Understand and interpret regulatory and policy requirements and procedures relevant to credit risk; serve as a resource to the C&SI and ABL Credit Risk team in these areas.
  • Collaborate with Control Management, Wholesale Lending Services, Credit Risk Middle Office, Operational Risk, Finance, Reporting, and other stakeholders to improve risk management and controls.
  • Support senior team members in articulating credit risk considerations in technology projects, working groups, and oversight forums by preparing materials, gathering inputs, and surfacing issues for senior sponsorship and advocacy.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration and partnership to balance the needs of our clients and the firm.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a commercial or investment bank credit or banking role.
  • Experience in audit, control, operations, or program management roles, with a track record of exceeding performance expectations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership.
  • Broad corporate lending knowledge and experience, including knowledge of primary corporate lending regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and effectively deliver work products in a time-sensitive, team-based environment.
  • Experience in control and process oversight, including gap identification, root cause analysis, control design and execution, and control management and monitoring.
  • Understanding of data management and proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Office, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in credit risk approvals, credit analysis, and administration.
  • Knowledge of wholesale credit risk and risk policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Reporting and analytical experience.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence tools such as Alteryx and LLM models.
  • Basic SharePoint design and project management experience.
  • Project Management Professional certification is a plus.
