Title:
Web Designer

The Web Designer provides Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to our customer's mission by reviewing, evaluating, and advising on web applications, user interfaces, and user experience designs that support intelligence operations. This role assesses existing websites, dashboards, portals, and web-based analytical tools to ensure they align with mission requirements, usability standards, accessibility guidelines, and operational objectives. The position works closely with government stakeholders, developers, designers, and engineers to identify design improvements and recommend enhancements to existing solutions. The Web Designer supports the development of design standards, UX best practices, and governance processes that promote consistency across mission systems. This role operates within a classified environment supporting national security objectives through the effective delivery of user-centered digital experiences.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate existing web applications, portals, dashboards, and user interfaces supporting Space and Counterspace missions.
  • Assess user experience (UX), information architecture, navigation structures, and visual design elements to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for enhancing usability, accessibility, consistency, and overall user effectiveness across web-based systems.
  • Conduct reviews of wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design specifications to ensure alignment with mission requirements and established standards.
  • Evaluate compliance with accessibility requirements, web standards, and government design guidelines.
  • Support the development and maintenance of UI/UX design standards, style guides, and governance processes.
  • Analyze user feedback, usage metrics, and operational requirements to inform design recommendations and modernization efforts.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, software developers, engineers, and mission partners to assess proposed design changes and enhancements.
  • Document findings, assessments, and recommendations to support system improvements and decision-making activities.
  • Support testing and validation efforts to ensure implemented design changes achieve intended usability and operational outcomes.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Web Design, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in web design, UI/UX design, user research, digital product design, or a related discipline.
  • Experience reviewing, evaluating, or designing web applications, websites, dashboards, or enterprise user interfaces.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Axure, or equivalent technologies.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) with Current Polygraph.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or other federal government programs.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and government web design frameworks, including Section 508 compliance and U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) principles.
  • Experience supporting data visualization platforms, intelligence analysis tools, or mission-focused operational dashboards.


Basic Compensation:

$135,200 - $175,000

This range is for the Virginia area only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance
