Overview

We are seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager IT at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of web-based applications and platform solutions used by globally distributed teams. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, UX, and Architecture to drive predictable delivery across multiple teams, stakeholders, and time zones. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in Agile environments, managing cross-team dependencies, and communicating clearly with both technical and business audiences

Essential Functions
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans that coordinate work across multiple teams, stakeholders, and global locations
  • Partner with Product Owners, Engineering, UX, and Architecture to plan, sequence, and deliver web application features and platform capabilities
  • Facilitate Agile delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid), adapting approaches to meet team and product needs
  • Manage delivery across iterative releases, balancing scope, quality, risk, and timeline
  • Proactively identify and manage cross-team dependencies, delivery risks, and constraints; drive mitigation plans and decision-making
  • Coordinate work across globally distributed teams, accounting for time zones, regional considerations, and cultural differences
  • Establish clear communication cadences, artifacts, and dashboards to ensure transparency and alignment
  • Provide concise, outcome-focused project status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Translate technical delivery details into business-relevant impacts and tradeoffs
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of project documentation, plans, and delivery artifacts
  • Drive accountability across project teams without direct authority and resolve issues and conflicts as they arise

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated mastery of project management principles with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering web-based or technology solutions
  • Experience working with Agile delivery teams and modern SDLC practices
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong time management, follow-up, and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience delivering web applications, APIs, or platform services
  • Experience supporting globally distributed or remote development teams
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience coordinating releases across multiple teams or components
  • Familiarity with modern delivery and collaboration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence)
  • Understanding of cloud-based or SaaS application environments (conceptual knowledge)
  • Project management or Agile certification (PMP, CSM, or similar)
