Full Job Description
The IT Senior Group Manager manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures managed areas are defining and implementing systems that are aligned with business strategy and goals.
  • Resolves a variety of broad based and complex issues. Applies a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas as well as underlying business principles.
  • Demonstrates an in depth understanding of how own sub function integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.
  • Impacts the technology sub function by strategic influence and by exercising control over resources, budget management and planning; accountable for end results.
  • Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

This executive-level position is accountable for setting the strategic direction and providing leadership for all audit and assurance activities across the global Wealth Technology portfolio. The Director will be the firm's foremost authority on Wealth Technology risk and control, responsible for ensuring that the division's applications, infrastructure, and processes are audit-ready and compliant with global regulatory standards on a continuous basis.

This role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with executive leadership, global business heads, risk and compliance partners, and senior regulators. The ideal candidate will drive a culture of proactive risk management and control excellence, safeguarding the firm's assets and reputation while enabling business innovation.
  • Global Audit Oversight: Direct and oversee the end-to-end execution of the global Wealth Technology audit plan. Ensure all audit activities are performed to the highest standards of quality, rigor, and timeliness.
  • Continuous Assurance & Readiness: Champion and embed a culture of "always-on" audit readiness. Partner with senior technology and business leaders to ensure the control environment is designed and operating effectively throughout the year, anticipating future challenges and regulatory shifts.
  • Regulatory & Governance: Represent the firm before regulators and external auditors on all matters concerning Wealth Technology controls. Manage regulatory examinations, present audit findings to governance committees, and ensure transparent and timely communication on risk posture.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global team of audit professionals. Foster a culture of excellence, professional development, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Issue Management & Strategic Remediation: Oversee the validation and strategic remediation of all audit and regulatory findings. Provide executive-level oversight to ensure that corrective actions are not only completed but also address root causes and are sustainable.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the firm's leading expert on Wealth Technology risk, control, and audit best practices. Provide strategic advice to the business on control implications of new technologies, products, and business initiatives.
