Provides support and product expertise for the BMO Family Office business development, sales and service delivered by wealth advisors and relationship managers. Services relationships in the assigned portfolio to ensure an exceptional client experience. Introduces services to clients to enhance the overall experience.

  • Oversees the preparation of new business proposals or presentations to clients / prospects based upon their needs.
  • Identifies and shares business development opportunities in the marketplace to help grow the overall market business.
  • Builds a relationship development plan for all assigned clients under the direction of wealth advisor / relationship manager to maximize client lifetime value.
  • Acts as the key service contact for clients.
  • Takes ownership of client issues and collaborates with others to resolve or escalates per guidelines.
  • Liaises with external advisors of clients on behalf of the wealth advisor / relationship manager.
  • Understands and communicates emerging market trends in wealth management.
  • Develops an understanding of the customer needs and the account strategy and effectively communicates this to clients and prospects.
  • Make suggestions about how to improve the overall service interaction for prospects and clients.
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal / external stakeholders.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Prepares reports for financial plans; inputs appropriate data according to established guidelines.
  • Makes updates to sales tracking, forecast and pipeline, relationship plans, and other databases.
  • May act as Team Lead and assist manager in activities such as coordination and scheduling of work, workload management, resource forecasting, quality control, training, coaching team members and problem resolution.
  • Monitor, investigate, respond to client escalations and report on fluctuations in drivers of service levels.
  • Promotes continuous improvement/cost effectiveness of processes and procedures.
  • Recommends continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates account opening procedures and all required client onboarding activities.
  • Participates in account review process and completion of required action items.
  • Organizes client files and ensures proper documentation.
  • Supports the assigned advisors and client portfolio through administrative and transactional support including correspondence, relationship reviews, account documentation and sales reporting.
  • Prepares reports for financial plans and prospect presentations with an understanding of the anticipated prospect/client needs.
  • Supports the achievement of the business plan within the designated territory / region.
  • Collaborates effectively with internal stakeholders to build capability and drive business growth.
  • Meets high-quality service standards to maximize relationship retention and growth.
  • Develops rapport and instills confidence with the client to develop credibility and earn their trust.
  • Follows through on the risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure we safeguard our customers' assets, maintain their privacy, act in their best interests, and ensures an effectively run function.
  • Protects the Bank's assets and complies with all regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.
  • Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying our Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role, in line with our Risk Culture and within our approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policy documents (Frameworks, Policies, Standards, Procedures and Supporting documents), laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning and wealth management.
  • Proficiency in office software and sales management software.
  • In-depth knowledge of Bank products, services and capabilities.
  • Comfortable exploring beyond one's area of technical expertise (i.e. discipline).
  • A willingness and aptitude to influence and recognize new business opportunities.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Salary:

$57,500.00 - $106,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
