Summary

The Wealth Advisor manages existing client relationships, delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services. This role can function independently with a personal book of business or work collaboratively with a more experienced advisor on larger, complex relationships. The Wealth Advisor demonstrates full competency in financial planning, client service, compliance, and relationship management whiledemonstratingbusiness development capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage existing client relationships as primary advisor, independently or in collaboration with senior advisors

  • Demonstrate consistent year-over-year AUM growth through new client acquisition and deepening existing relationships

  • Actively prospect and develop new wealth management client relationships

  • Prepare and implement comprehensive financial plans addressing wealth accumulation, retirement, tax, estate, and risk management

  • Lead client meetings, track correspondence, and present planning recommendations with clarity and confidence

  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews, rebalancing, and investment allocation adjustments aligned with client goals

  • Proactively identify changes in client circumstances and recommend adjustments to financial strategies

  • Develop and present investment policy statements and asset allocation recommendations

  • Coordinate with estate planning attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals on behalf of clients

  • Ensure all client interactions and recommendations comply with fiduciary standards and firm policies

  • Maintain thorough documentation of client meetings, decisions, and recommendations in CRM

  • Participate in business development activities including client referrals and networking events

  • Stay current on tax law changes, investment products, and financial planning best practices

EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENTKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide financial education and advice to help retirement plan participants make informed decisions about retirement savings and overall financial wellbeing

  • Educate employees on their full retirement picture: Social Security, pension plans, employer plans (401(k), 403(b), etc.), and individual savings (IRA, 529, non-qualified investments, and more)

  • Deliver programming through one-on-one meetings, webinars, workshops, group sessions, and newsletters

  • Assist with benefits fairs, open enrollments, retirement seminars, and employer-hosted appointments

  • Proactively engage with plan sponsors, advisors, and client service team to enhance the participant education experience

  • Track meeting activity. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field required 

 

Licenses & Credentials 

  • Series 65 required; if associated with a Broker-Dealer: SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 

  • Financial planning designations a plus — such as CFP®, CFA, ChFC, CIMA, CASL®, AIF®, or equivalent 

 

Experience 

  • 4–7 years of experience in financial planning and wealth management 

  • Demonstrated competency in financial planning, client service, compliance, relationship management, and coaching 

  • Proven ability to manage client relationships independently with high satisfaction 

  • Strong knowledge of investment strategies, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning 

  • Experience preparing and presenting comprehensive financial plans 

  • Track record of building trusted, long-term advisor relationships with clients

  • Proficiency with financial planning software, portfolio management systems, and CRM platforms

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts in accessible terms

  • Growing business development capabilities including networking and relationship building

  • Regional travel required
