Full Job Description
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineer to our team based in Houston, TX.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Engineer to assist in growing Tetra Tech's Texas engineering business. Candidate will provide support for the project tasks involving engineering design, permitting, and support aspects of engineering projects. Candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload; travel as needed and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications is a requirement.

Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. This position will support a variety of contracts, including commercial, industrial, and local government. Duties will include:
  • Performing project tasks for public and private sector clients as well as participation in functions involving contact with client representatives.
  • Working with or coordination with project team personnel. Will perform technical functions on projects and work with team members on engineering and construction projects.
  • Preparation of feasibility and engineering reports, permit applications, construction specifications, engineering cost estimates, and work on the preparation of construction drawings.
  • Assistance in the preparation of proposals, subcontract specifications, and work plans.
  • Participation in technical and business development presentations with clients.
  • Other duties may be assigned as determined appropriate by the supervisor based on level of experience.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or Master's Degree (M.S.) in Civil, Process, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or a related area.
  • Engineer-in-Training certificate is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience with design of water & wastewater project
  • Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for client submittal.
  • Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with basic engineering and mathematical concepts and principles.
  • Ability to apply engineering and mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Must be able to work effectively with other technical professionals.
  • Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
