Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling in HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS
  • Conduct closed-conduit hydraulic modeling using multiple software tools
  • Design stormwater facilities including detention ponds and treatment systems
  • Prepare reports and specifications in compliance with codes
  • Communicate effectively with project teams and clients
  • Oversee and mentor junior staff while providing technical guidance
  • Manage tasks and budgets as an Assistant Project Manager when needed

Job Description:

EDGE Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineer interested in public transportation, drainage, aviation, and flood control analysis & design. Applicant should have a strong track record of working on design projects for public sector clients. Job responsibilities will include:
  • Performing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling in HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS
  • Perform closed-conduit hydraulic modeling in StormCAD, ORD-DU, Civil-Storm, XPSWMM, PCSWMM and/or InfoWorks ICM
  • Design stormwater facilities including detention ponds, water quality treatment, and erosion control measures
  • Preparing reports, construction cost estimates and specifications in accordance with local, state and federal code requirements
  • Clearly and consistently communicate and coordinate with the project team, project managers, and clients.
  • Oversee and train junior staff including reviewing work, answering questions, and providing technical guidance.
  • Work independently in addition to planning, organizing, and assisting a small team
  • Depending on experience level and desire, the applicant may serve as an Assistant Project Manager, managing tasks, budgets, staff, and client coordination.
  • Full-time - Monday to Friday; Hybrid 2 days from home, 3 days office

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • PE License (Texas) or able to obtain in Texas
  • Minimum 4-years of experience, primarily focused on H&H and drainage design
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Experience designing storm drain, ditches, and culvert for transportation projects.
  • Applicant should be driven and committed to excellence and growth through hard work and dedication.

Preferred
  • Experience in Microstation or ORD
  • Experience with ESRI ArcMap or other GIS applications
  • Experience with HEC-RAS or HEC-HMS
  • Experience with Infoworks ICM, XP-SWMM, EPA SWMM, KYPipe and other hydraulic models
  • Experience preparing drainage reports and PS&E deliverables in compliance with state and local agency standards
