Responsibilities

  • Direct the creation of floodplain and watershed studies, design reports, and construction documents.
  • Guide staff in producing design calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets efficiently.
  • Participate in business development and technical delivery strategy meetings.
  • Support client development and proposal activities, collaborating with various business units.

Full Job Description
Otak is currently seeking to hire a Water Resources Project Manager to join our Water and Natural Resources team in our Redmond or Everett office. This person will support our project and development initiatives, such as: urban stormwater retrofit, stormwater treatment/management, green infrastructure, restoration of river/stream/wetland systems, fish passage, hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analyses (pipes and open channel), geomorphic analyses, flood hazard mitigation, and surface water planning.

How You'll Contribute :
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and project delivery, with a focus on stormwater infrastructure, fish passage, river and stream restoration, and flood mitigation projects in Puget Sound.
  • Prepare various reports supporting design decisions and permitting.
  • Direct and oversee the preparation of floodplain and watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic design reports, and construction documents.
  • Guide staff in preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules and budgets.
  • Participate in team strategy meetings on business development and technical delivery.
  • Support client development and proposal activities.
  • Support Otak's Transportation, Planning, and Architecture business units.

The Strengths You Bring :
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering required (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of previous Project Management/Project Engineering experience in stream/river restoration design, or related field.
  • Must possess a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with preparation of construction documents for project designs and permits supported by hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic calculations.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects from design through construction.
  • Experience with SWMM, HSPF, HEC-RAS, SRH-2D or similar hydrologic and hydraulic models.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple project tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed.

Salary Range: $115,000-155,000 per year
