Consor in Toronto is looking for well-qualified and motivated Water Resources Designer to further build on our already growing and diverse environmental and engineering consulting business in Canada. In the role, you will work with a highly collaborative team to advance challenging and meaningful projects across multiple market sectors including municipal infrastructure, aggregate and metal mining, power generation and transmission, and land development. As part of this, use your skills and expertise to contribute to client deliverables through desktop-based analyses and modelling exercises, conceptual detailed design and technical reporting. Projected Compensation: $65,000 - $115,000/year CAD

What You'll Do:

• Support a wide range of project work and proposal pursuits with a focus on water resources:
  • Baseline characterization studies, effects assessments, and water management analyses to support environmental assessments and other development planning initiatives.
  • Modelling assessments to support the design and implementation of development works, including stormwater management plans, floodplains and flood mitigation, and industrial and mining water management plans
  • Conceptual and detailed design of stormwater management infrastructure and channel works.
  • Water-related permitting and regulatory approval activities.
• Prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings, contract specifications and tender
  documents.
• Develop grading plans, surfaces, profiles and cross-sections for stormwater management facilities (SWM ponds and low impact development), channel works and stabilization, outfalls, and other water management projects.
• Conduct desktop-based analyses that involve hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, compilation and interpretation of spatial data, and the preparation of figures and mapping products.
• Contribute to technical reports, proposals, presentations and other key client deliverables.
• Develop positive working relationships and collaborate in a highly dynamic and supportive team environment.
• Provide creative and innovative solutions for projects by staying current on relevant regulatory drivers, emerging technologies, and market demands.

What You'll Need:

• 5+ years of consulting or industry-related experience, with demonstrated strengths in
  communication, problem-solving, project delivery, and collaboration.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent education with associated professional credentials (C.Tech. or C.E.T.) or the eligibility to register with OACETT.
• Understanding of water resources engineering principles, hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality.
• Experience with stormwater management planning, grading and design of stormwater management facilities (SWM Ponds and LIDs), channel and outlet design, environmental assessment, and regulatory permitting activities.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil3D, with experience on stormwater management infrastructure and watercourse projects.
• Familiarity with industry standard water modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Visual OTTHYMO, SWMM, InfoWorks, HY-8), ArcGIS and other GIS / mapping tools, and data management is an asset.
• Working knowledge of municipal standards, engineering and environmental legislation, policies and regulatory approval processes.
