Full Job Description
What we need

Exol is seeking an Industrial Engineer focused on fulfillment systems and capacity planning. You will own the logic that determines how work flows through the building, across both automated and manual functional areas, and you'll lead the effort to systematize and automate that logic within our WMS and supporting tools.

This is an execution-oriented role who will report to the Warehouse Optimization Manager (or similar). You'll spend your time analyzing data, working within systems, and supporting operations on the floor. The output is a facility that waves work intelligently, runs at planned capacity, and catches imbalances before they become service failures.

What you'll do
  • Order waving - Design and optimize wave strategies across automated and manual fulfillment processes, configuring WMS/WES logic to support operational priorities. Partner with operations and transportation teams to align execution with labor, capacity, and carrier requirements, while monitoring performance and refining wave logic to improve throughput and efficiency.
  • Capacity planning - Develop and manage capacity models across fulfillment operations, translating volume forecasts into labor, equipment, and throughput requirements. Create planning scenarios, identify capacity constraints, and drive solutions to support growth, peak demand, and operational changes.
  • Systems and process automation - Lead the configuration, testing, and optimization of wave and slotting logic, partnering with technology teams to enhance system capabilities. Automate key planning and reporting processes, translate operational needs into functional requirements, and maintain documentation to ensure scalable and repeatable solutions.
  • Analytics and continuous improvement - Develop performance reporting, analyze throughput and capacity gaps, and translate findings into operational improvements. Support time studies and labor standards to maintain accurate capacity models.

What we need
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of operations engineering experience in high-volume D2C/e-commerce fulfillment centers; strong preference for experience with automated systems (AMR, GTP, ASRS).
  • Advanced technical skills with MS Office and BI tools for operational data validation and KPI reporting
  • Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, including labor standards, time studies, process mapping, line balancing, and visual management.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives, automation deployments, and process transformations across multiple sites.
  • Proactive, results-oriented mindset and the ability to execute effectively in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Proven success managing operational escalations, SLA performance, RCA/RCCA activities, and customer service recovery within fulfillment or 3PL operations.
  • Experience supporting facility start-ups, new site launches, and greenfield warehouse implementations.
  • Strong analytical, continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen), and stakeholder management skills, with expertise in WMS systems, fulfillment metrics, carrier operations, and data-driven decision making.

Preferred
  • Background in a startup and high-growth environment, including the ability to build processes, teams, and operational discipline in a rapidly evolving organization.
  • Experience with food safety and quality management systems (e.g., SQF, HACCP, GMPs) preferred.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and scale large teams (100+ associates) across multiple shifts and peak seasons
  • Successful experience mitigating operational escalations, RCCAs, SLA performance, and service recovery within a 3PL, fulfillment, or multi-client environment strongly preferred.

Our Environment
  • On-site in our Jackson, GA warehouse facility (floor-focused with administrative responsibilities).
  • Ability to work variable shifts (days, nights, weekends) as operational and peak demands require.
  • Up to 25% travel for network visits or customer meetings. Valid driver's license required.
