[Responsibilities]
Leadership and Team Management: Lead the inbound team for large/bulky items, including receiving clerks and heavy forklift operators; enforce pre-receiving safety checks.
Performance Enhancement: Maximize dock door utilization for oversized shipments; reduce unloading-to-putaway cycle time through zone-dedicated staging.
Operational Oversight: Coordinate LTL/truckload deliveries of furniture, palletized machinery, or industrial goods. Direct team to inspect for concealed damage, verify dimensions/weights, and complete putaway into bulk or rack storage.
Schedule Management: Align inbound appointment windows with yard management; prioritize unloading based on outbound demand and storage constraints.
Reporting: Generate receiving accuracy reports (by SKU/pallet), vendor compliance scorecards, and storage utilization for large items.
Customer Service Excellence: Work with vendors and freight forwarders to resolve quantity/damage discrepancies at the dock and document claims.
Security and Integrity: Secure high-value large items during receiving; implement spot checks for theft prevention.
