Job Description
Alabama State University, Center for Leadership and Public Policy, invites applications for Warehouse General Manager. This position will manage all aspects of the ABC Warehouse to include but not limited to Operations, Policies and Procedures, Material Handling Maintenance, Production Planning, and Personnel Planning in conjunction with and fulfillment of the ASU Center for Leadership and Public Policy contract with the Alabama Beverage Control Board. ASU resources provided shall be assigned with the following associated skill set and experience as defined by the ABC Project Sponsor and/or the ABC Project Manager:

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create, monitor, and revise all policies and procedures for a productive work environment in a modern distribution center utilizing state of the art material handling equipment.
  • Monitor the management of the Receiving Process, all associated processes and documentation for accuracy, cleanliness of area, and safety practices/proper dock management, maintaining accountability according to established processes and procedures
  • Monitor the management of Internal Movement the accuracy of picking & stocking processes, cleanliness of area, safety practices, maintaining accountability according to established processes and procedures
  • Manage the shipping process, accuracy of shipments to stores, accuracy of vendor pick up process, cleanliness of the area, safety practices, maintaining accountability according to established processes and procedures
  • Oversee and manage all warehouse maintenance needs, prioritizing repairs to conveyor system according to production schedule, helping to determine scheduling of conveyor system repairs, equipment check sheets, prioritizing other warehouse repairs as necessary, cleanliness of work area(s), safety practices, maintaining accountability according to established processes and procedures
  • Manage the discipline process when administered to warehouse staff by maintaining accountability according to established processes and procedures set forth in the ABC Handbook where "General Work Rules" are listed
  • Develop, review, and modify reports with all warehouse management focused on Receiving, Internal Movement, and Shipping to achieve an increased efficiency of the internal functions of each department

Minimum Qualifications
Four Year Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, experience in personnel management (Minimum 2 years), high degree of communication skills both written and oral, and working knowledge of the technology used in material handling equipment. Experience in the specific supply chain management will equate to college on a year for year basis.
