OverviewThe Shopper Behavior Senior Manager plays a leadership role on the PepsiCo Walmart team, helping shape how shopper behavior insights inform growth strategies across the business. This role will lead work on the Scintilla data platform and collaborate closely with the PBNA Commercial Insights team and key commercial partners-including Sales, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Supply Chain-to identify opportunities and provide deep expertise on shopper behavior. The role will also help build shopper-focused digital capabilities across innovation, events, and stores, while leveraging consumer and shopper insights to incorporate consumer need states, macro trends, and Walmart-specific shopper dynamics.
More specifically, this role is responsible for identifying Walmart shopper trends, shopper behavior insights, competitive threats, and customer strategies that can increase sales, drive category and PepsiCo portfolio growth, and expand share of market. This leader will provide critical expertise and thought leadership in Shopper Behavior and Insights, while actively partnering with the PBNA Commercial team to understand goals, clarify the most important business problems to solve, and bring meaningful business context to analytical work. The individual in this role will be expected to serve as a thought leader and positively influence commercial decision-making. A proactive mindset, strong curiosity, learning agility, and the ability to thrive in a team-based culture are essential to success.
Responsibilities- Lead the development of a strong foundational understanding of the Walmart shopper, including shopper profiles, cohorts, and the behaviors that can help drive brand performance.
- Integrate information from multiple sources to develop actionable insights and recommendations. These sources may include syndicated consumer and market data, external sources, bespoke studies, and PepsiCo's North America shopper capabilities.
- Define shopper growth insights and store-level opportunities across events, innovation, assortment, and related priorities through tools and capabilities developed by the broader team.
- Partner closely with advisor teams to provide shopper-based insights on disaggregated growth, impulse, shelf analytics, and path-to-purchase dynamics.
- Provide thought leadership and deep expertise on shopper behavior and how it is evolving across channels to inform growth strategies.
- Identify Walmart shopper trends, shopper behavior insights, and trip and basket shifts that can drive category and PepsiCo portfolio growth and increase share of market.
- Serve as a critical expert and thought leader on the Scintilla data platform.
- Actively engage with the PBNA Commercial team to understand goals, define the most important problems to solve, and bring relevant business context to analytical projects.
- Lead shopper-insights-based planning and strategy both internally and externally, including annual planning and customer engagement meetings.
- Provide strong analytical support to the PepsiCo executive team across key business problems to solve.
- Utilize syndicated consumer and market data to uncover compelling insights.
- Develop deep expertise in the Scintilla shopper data platform and serve as an expert resource for the commercial insights team.
- Leverage shopper and consumer insights in the development of category and brand growth strategies.
- Integrate information from multiple sources and translate it into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Participate in customer strategic planning processes.
- Provide analytical support to the PepsiCo executive team with data, dashboards, analysis, and key business reporting.
- Become a power user of Scintilla for the PBNA Commercial executive team and support execution against business priorities.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $123,500 - $206,750.

- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- 3-5 years of Category Management experience within the consumer packaged goods industry.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to connect strategies and objectives to develop compelling stories. Strong data analysis and problem-solving orientation required.
- Experience partnering with commercial sales teams on business development projects preferred, with an emphasis on strategy through execution.
- Strong thought leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to influence both internal teams and customers to achieve business goals.
- Ability to proactively set and lead an insights agenda; consumer insights experience is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of syndicated data sources such as Circana and/or Nielsen is required. This role will also leverage Scintilla (previously known as Luminate), Walmart omni data, and additional data sources; experience with shopper insights and panel data is preferred.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; Tableau and/or Power BI experience is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to connect insights to action and translate analysis into clear business implications.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to interface effectively at the executive level and engage confidently with team members, management, and customer contacts.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong influencing capability to gain alignment, agreement, and commitment across internal and external stakeholders.
