About the roleWe are looking for a Senior Agriculture Underwriter to be based in our US office. There is potential for this person to take over the role Head of North America, there is also opportunity to work on LATAM markets and contribute to worldwide agriculture strategy:
- Develop and execute underwriting strategy for agriculture business.
- Establish and maintain dialogues with clients and brokers in the market, and hunt for opportunities that fit Partner Re's risk appetite.
- Travel to clients' offices, carry out field visits and loss assessment surveys.
- Represent PartnerRe in industry bodies, participate in agriculture insurance/reinsurance conferences to build brand recognition and promote our platform.
- Monitor and report capacity deployment. Closely follow weather variabiles and climatic trends and study their impact on the agriculture portfolio.
- Collaborating with internal teams such as actuarial, accounting, claims and operations, to ensure data quality, consistency and compliance with guidelines.
About youYou bring 10+ years of experience in agriculture insurance/reinsurance business as well as in-depth knowledge of MPCI and Crop Hail insurance either insurance or reinsurance. In addition, you possess proven track record in underwriting, product design, and portfolio management. Your are proactive and strong problem solving mindset, and have excellent English communications skills, verbal and written. Spanish language skill is a plus. You have the ability to work independently and as part of a global specialist team, often within tight deadlines.
