Position Title: VP Treasury Management

REPORTS TO: SVP/Commercial Lending

SUPERVISES: To be determined

JOB GRADE 17: $116,958.40 - $146,182.40 Targeted Annual Salary

JOB SUMMARY:

The VP Treasury Management is responsible for building, managing, and growing a best-in-class Treasury Management function. This position will lead the strategy, product development, sales execution, and operational delivery of treasury and cash management solutions for business members. The role partners closely with Commercial Lending, Business Services, Operations, IT, Risk, and Finance to grow fee income, expand business deposits, deepen primary financial institution relationships, and deliver scalable, member-centric treasury solutions across Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and surrounding markets

Duties/Responsibilities:

Build and scale the Treasury Management department, including organizational structure, staffing, policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year treasury management strategy aligned with the Credit Union's
  • business services and commercial lending objectives.
  • Establish pricing, profitability targets, and revenue goals for treasury products.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous
  • improvement.
  • Represent the Credit Union in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe business communities
  • Build strong relationships with local businesses, chambers of commerce, and professional
  • organizations
  • Stay informed on competitive trends, economic conditions, and evolving business member needs
  • Oversee the full treasury product suite, including:
  • ACH origination and receivables
  • Domestic and international wires (as applicable)
  • Remote Deposit Capture (RDC)
  • Merchant services
  • Online and mobile business banking
  • Fraud prevention and cash flow management tools
  • Identify member needs and market gaps; recommend and implement new products and
  • enhancements.
  • Partner with vendors, IT, and Operations
  • Drive treasury management growth through new business acquisition and expansion of existing member relationships
  • Partner with Commercial Relationship Officers and Business Services Specialists to deliver
  • integrated lending and treasury solutions
  • Lead complex treasury sales opportunities, pricing discussions, proposals, and implementations
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in member meetings, prospect calls, and community
  • engagement
  • Ensure treasury management activities comply with Credit Union policies, regulatory
  • requirements, and risk management standards
  • Partner with Compliance, BSA/AML, IT Security, and Internal Audit to manage operational and
  • fraud risk
  • Oversee onboarding, implementation, and ongoing servicing to ensure a high-quality member

  • Monitor service levels, product usage, exceptions, and key risk indicators
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a team of Treasury Management Officers, Analysts, and Support Staff.
  • Establish performance goals, sales expectations, and professional development plans.
  • Coach team members on consultative sales, product expertise, and member experience

  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with lending, operations, and support teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Proven success growing treasury management products, fee income, and business deposits.
  • Strong understanding of credit union business services and commercial lending environments.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and supervisory skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
  • Outlook.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial regulations, compliance rules, and policies and procedures.
  • Handle confidential matters with the utmost sensitivity and tact.
  • Travel as required.

Those in a leadership role are expected to participate in company meetings, community events, and similar engagements as ambassadors to the organization and its mission. These include voluntary and involuntary events that although ordinarily will be during business hours, does include weekends and evenings as announced.

Education/Experience
  • Education or Experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or similar field, in addition to 8 to 10 years' of progressively responsible experience in Treasury Management, Cash Management, or Business Services.
  • 5 plus years' of leadership experience, including team development.

Relevant professional certifications are preferred but not required. This may include but is not limited to:
  • CTP or equivalent

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Some standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending and lifting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
