Full Job Description
Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As the Vice President, Talent & Culture, you will be a senior leader within the People & Culture division, responsible for shaping and advancing Vancity's enterprise-wide talent strategy. You'll lead the design and integration of key people processes including talent management, leadership development, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement. This role plays a critical part in building a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven culture while ensuring the organization attracts, develops, and retains diverse talent. We're looking for a strategic, collaborative leader who can influence executive stakeholders, drive organizational effectiveness, and create future-ready talent systems.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Chief People Officer. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Leading the development and execution of enterprise talent and culture strategies aligned with Vancity's business goals

  • Designing and evolving performance management, succession planning, and talent review processes to build leadership pipelines

  • Partnering with executives to strengthen leadership capability, organizational health, and employee engagement

  • Overseeing the design and delivery of enterprise learning and leadership development programs

  • Integrating talent programs across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, development, and career progression

  • Leveraging data and insights to inform talent decisions and drive continuous improvement across people programs

  • Embedding diversity, equity, inclusion, and reconciliation principles into talent systems and culture initiatives

  • Leading and coaching a team of senior leaders to deliver strategic people initiatives and outcomes

  • Supporting enterprise change initiatives by aligning talent and culture practices with transformation efforts


What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • A graduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Management, or a related field

  • 15-20 years of progressive experience in People & Culture leadership roles

  • At least 5 years of experience leading teams delivering large-scale strategic change initiatives in complex organizations

  • Demonstrated experience influencing executive leadership and shaping enterprise-wide strategies

  • Proven expertise in talent management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align talent strategies with organizational priorities

  • Advanced leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams

  • Experience leveraging data, analytics, and HRIS systems to support decision-making and talent processes

  • Advanced degree (Master's) in HR, Organizational Development, or related discipline

  • Certifications or training in change management, adult learning, or project management

What You'll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $204,000 to $264,000 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
