Full Job Description
We think of exceptional finance leaders as Deal Architects: people who design the structures,
terms, and relationships that let a fast-growing company move at full speed on its biggest
opportunities. It's a role where a credit agreement and a candid conversation with a counterparty
carry equal weight, and where a well-built structure can unlock a deal everyone else assumed
was stuck.

We're hiring a VP, Strategic Finance & Vendor Relations, and we're looking for someone who
thrives at the intersection of treasury, credit, negotiation, and relationship-building. Someone
who reads what really matters to a counterparty, earns the trust that turns careful consideration
into a handshake, and leaves every banking, vendor, and client relationship stronger than they
found it.

Reports to: COO

Scope: Senior executive, self-directed, with a direct line to ownership

Location: Waltham, MA

Why This Role Matters

Our business has reached the scale where our transactions get noticed. Banks, vendors, and
clients all take a closer look when the numbers get big, and our underlying financial position is
strong. This role exists to translate that strength into better terms, smoother relationships, and
financing structures that keep us moving at the pace our customers expect. You'll be the person
who turns "let's see how this goes"; into "here's how we'll get it done."

What You'll Do

Banking & Collateral Design and negotiate arrangements with our banking partners, including
instruments to protect assets and improve operational flexibility. You'll make sure our financial
positions are optimized, so leadership can sleep well and act boldly.

Client Financing & Prepayment Structures Structure large arrangements with major clients
that keep our own vendor commitments funded and on track. Many of these clients will be
making large strategic purchases, and some will be putting funds out ahead of extended delivery
timelines. You'll build the milestones, guarantees, and transparency that make them comfortable
saying yes.

Vendor Negotiations & Credit Terms Take a hard, creative look at vendor payment terms and
champion better-structured alternatives best accommodate all parties' interest and keep deals
moving forward. Beyond individual transactions, you'll build the analysis and relationship capital
that streamlines every transaction that follows.

Key Client Relationship Management Own our relationships with high-standards, high-value
clients, including stepping into relationships that are established but need a steady hand. You'll
spot nascent sources of friction (financial, operational, or relational) early and resolve them
while they're still small.

Vendor Relationship Strategy Lead a lasting shift in how vendors see us on large and non-
standard transactions. Through credibility, disciplined documentation, and thoughtful
relationship management, you'll help make us their go-to partner.

Where This Role Goes

This is a founding seat. You'll shape how strategic finance and vendor relations work here, and as
our transaction volume and complexity grow, so does the scope of the role. Success here means a
direct hand in the company's most consequential deals, deep partnership with management, and a
natural path to expanded leadership as the function you build grows around you.

What You Bring
  • 10+ years in corporate finance, treasury, credit, or a related field, with direct experience
negotiating collateral agreements, prepayment structures, receivables financing, or
    vendor credit terms
  • A track record of leading high-stakes negotiations with banks, vendors, or major clients,
ideally including moments where you changed a counterparty's default posture
  • Strong command of credit concepts: security interests, receivables assignment,
counterparty risk, and how creditworthiness translates into negotiable terms
  • Excellent relationship and influence skills; this role lives in judgment calls and
collaborative problem-solving as much as in financial structuring
  • The self-direction of a senior executive who drives outcomes through influence,
    credibility, and momentum
  • Experience in a technology company preferred, particularly one with complex vendor
supply chains or large enterprise client relationships

Core Competencies
  • Builds trust fast
  • Structures creatively
  • Delivers commitments
  • Simplifies complexity
  • Communicates well in writing and orally
  • Sees the whole board
  • Results-oriented

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a cover letter. In your cover letter and/or a separate written
submission, please address the following:
  • Tell us about a financing or credit structure you designed or negotiated that changed a
counterparty's default position. What was the starting posture, what did you build, and
what was the outcome? How long did it take, and what did the path look like along the
    way?
  • Describe a time you stepped into a fragile or high-pressure relationship with a bank,
vendor, or client. What approach did you take to move it forward, and where did it land?

We're most interested in how you think, how you build trust, and how you approach complexity
when the stakes are high.

Benefits

We recognize that satisfaction and well-being are integral components for long-term sustainability and business success. As such, available to full-time employees are the following benefits:
  • Competitive salary
  • Multiple health insurance options
  • Medical FSA and Dependent Care FSA
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • 401(k) savings plan with employer matching
  • Employer-sponsored long-term disability
  • Paid holidays and PTO that increases with longevity at the company
  • Discounted health club membership
  • Convenient parking
  • Opportunities for growth!
