Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a self-driven and motivated Transportation Program Executive with extensive Transit Rail experience to serve as the VP, Program Management Consultant Lead on signature mega projects in the New York, NY area. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career with program, design, and construction management experience in Transportation, specifically Transit Rail, and Heavy Civil (Underground) Construction in the New York Metro market with distinct prior MTA experience. This Vice President level position will report to the Director of Transportation Program Management and Construction as part of the NY Metro Transportation business line.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Directs and manages the entire project through all phases
  • Responsible for delivery of a major program
  • Provides leadership and guidance to subordinate managers and staff
  • Enforces company and project policies
  • Acts as primary liaison between AECOM and client interface
  • Provide regular status briefings to Client
  • Lead issue detection and resolution
  • Confirms compliance with all facets of the project including commercial, design and construction
  • Implement a safety and quality oversight program
  • Responsible for budget control, schedule and contract management
  • Ensure proper staffing levels
  • Lead contract closeout
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and community representatives
  • Implement and oversee a comprehensive risk management strategy for the project
  • Ensure project adherence to sustainability and environmental guidelines
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve project efficiency and outcomes
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related scientific/technical field plus 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education including 4+ years of leadership experience
  • Due to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is required
  • Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or CCM

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 20 years of experience in both design and construction management
  • Experience with similar size projects, including those with aggressive schedules and comprehensive community information programs
  • Five years of prior experience leading Design-Build contracts
  • Five years of prior experience on Major Transportation Projects
  • BS in Engineering, Construction or Architecture
  • Construction / project management experience on transportation projects
  • Experience in managing work, scope, budgets and schedules
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work within a paperless environment
  • Experience in managing work, scope, budgets and schedules
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
