DescriptionRole OverviewThe Vice President of Production is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production process of our product line, ensuring the highest quality of products, timely deliveries, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to the company's standards and values. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of production processes and industry trends.
Responsibilities- Strategic Oversight: Work cross-functionally with design and sales counterparts to ensure the timely development of fabric, trims, and samples
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the production team, ensuring professional growth and departmental cohesiveness.
- Capacity Planning: Work with Core Vendors to ensure Capacity Plans related to fabric, trim, and production are executed in a timely manner to help ensure factory utilization and efficiency
- Mills: Ensure the cost of fabric is in line with corporate objectives
- Costing: Thorough knowledge of Global CMs (or CPM's), Estimated Yields, and open costing
- Budget Management: Develop and manage production budgets, ensuring cost-efficiencies and profitability.
- Vendor Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts to achieve optimal terms.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the premium quality of the product.
- Trend Analysis: Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to continuously innovate and improve production processes.
- Operational Excellence: Streamline operations to maximize efficiency and minimize waste, maintaining the highest production standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the design, sales, and marketing teams to align production with company goals and market demands.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely distribution.
- Risk Management: Identify potential production risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Sustainability: Advocate and implement sustainable production practices, ensuring environmentally friendly operations.
Requirements- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in sourcing, production, and/or global supply chain within the apparel industry, including senior executive (VP-level) responsibility
- Proven ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing global sourcing and production organizations across multiple regions
- Deep expertise in global costing strategy, including CPMs, CMs, yield optimization, and end-to-end margin architecture
- Strong command of raw materials, fabric innovation, trims, and the full product development lifecycle, with the ability to influence product and cost decisions at the concept stage
- Demonstrated track record of driving enterprise-level margin improvement through strategic vendor negotiations, cost engineering, and supply chain optimization
- Extensive experience developing and managing global vendor ecosystems, including offshore partners, with a focus on long-term partnerships, performance, and risk mitigation
- Strategic business leader with the ability to translate sourcing and production decisions into financial impact, aligning closely with executive leadership and company-wide goals
- Advanced analytical capabilities with a data-driven mindset; leverages tools and insights to inform strategy, forecasting, and decision-making (beyond hands-on execution)
- Exceptional executive presence with strong cross-functional leadership and influencing skills across Design, Merchandising, Finance, and Operations
- Proven ability to lead through complexity, drive transformation, and implement scalable processes in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Highly strategic, results-oriented, and solutions-driven, with strong operational rigor and a bias for action
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed to support global operations and partnerships
