Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and strategic leader to serve as the Vice President of Philanthropy and Development, a pivotal role dedicated to advancing our mission through innovative fundraising, relationship management, and community engagement. This role is responsible for the organization's fundraising, marketing, communications, and client relations efforts.

In this dynamic position, you will spearhead comprehensive fundraising initiatives, cultivate meaningful donor relationships, strengthen community relationships, and lead strategic planning efforts that are in alignment with the mission and maximize philanthropic support. Your expertise in nonprofit management, digital marketing, and database management will drive impactful campaigns that elevate our organization's visibility and sustainability. Responsibilities
  • Drive strategic vision for development, marketing, and engagement activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team specializing in fundraising, marketing, and events.
  • Design, develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies including major gifts, planned giving, grants, annual campaigns, and corporate sponsorships.
  • Create opportunities for donors and volunteers to connect directly with the mission through site visits, client success stories, and hands-on service opportunities.
  • Oversee the management of donor and alumni databases using CRM software to ensure accurate data collection and segmentation for targeted outreach.
  • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events, including galas, community gatherings, and virtual campaigns utilizing event planning skills.
  • Manage digital marketing efforts across platforms and social media channels to enhance visibility and engagement.
  • Prepare appropriate communications material to promote fundraising and reports to secure funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate mailings, email marketing campaigns, and digital outreach initiatives leveraging tools for effective communication.
  • Oversee budgeting for philanthropic programs and events while ensuring compliance with legal requirements related to wills, trusts, estate planning, and estate law.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on public relations strategies to promote organizational achievements and initiatives through media relations and community outreach.
  • Present detailed reports and strategic development plans to the Board of Directors, highlighting achievements, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Manage relationships with consultants, agencies, and vendors to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications Requires:
  • Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.
  • Master's degree in Administration, Communication, or related field, any appropriate combination of relevant education or experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive development and fundraising experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel, other data collecting programs).
  • Demonstrates a high level of productivity while remaining calm and effective under pressure.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and a self-starter.
  • Culturally sensitive to the social, psychological and healthcare needs of the vulnerable populations served.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.


Qualifications Preferred:
  1. Demonstrates a high level of productivity while remaining calm and effective under pressure.
  2. A self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as, with multidisciplinary teams and co-workers.
  3. Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred


Salary Description

$125,000 - $175,000
