Full Job Description
SVP/VP of Product, Autura

Location: Remote in Texas. Preferred location is within 2-3 hours drive from Houston or Dallas. Expect regular travel to customers and team hubs.

Reports to: CEO. Partners with: CTO and engineering leadership.
The Role

We are hiring a VP of Product to own our entire product portfolio and lead the next chapter of how Autura builds. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone as comfortable prototyping in the tools as they are setting strategy. You will unify a broad, multi-product surface into a coherent platform, install a modern discovery and delivery model, and build a product organization that ships faster than anyone in our category. You report directly to the CEO and partner as a peer with our CTO. Product and engineering are two pillars of the same house, and you own the product one.
What You Will Do
  • Own the go-forward product strategy for the full Autura portfolio, and make the hard calls on what we unify, invest in, and retire. Turning a wide, fragmented surface into one coherent platform is the central mandate of this role.
  • Own the "what" and the "why," end to end. Set product direction from customer evidence and business outcomes, and defend it under pressure. Take full ownership of discovery and prioritization so engineering leadership can focus on architecture and delivery. Product managers here are decision-owners accountable for results, not a queue that turns requests into tickets.
  • Partner with engineering in healthy, productive tension. Own the tradeoffs that decide what gets built and in what order, driven by customer and commercial value rather than internal convenience. Prioritization is a two-sided conversation, not a handoff you accept.
  • Build and lead an AI-native product function. We are building a model where product leaders work hands-on across product, design, UX, and frontend, paired with small, fast engineering pods. You will hire, shape, and coach that team, and you will build alongside them.
  • Install a modern operating model: close to customers, evidence-driven prioritization, spec-driven and prototype-first development, and continuous shipping in place of long waterfall launches.
  • Use AI to compress the path from idea to working software: rapid prototypes, working API specs with mock data for engineering to build against, and agentic tooling that collapses cycle time.
  • Drive the growth bets that expand Autura beyond its core, including embedded payments and fintech opportunities in the towing vertical, and marketplace monetization.
What You Will Bring
  • You build. This is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have. You personally ship with AI: prototypes, working UI and flows, agents, internal tools. We will ask to see what you have built. Product leaders who only manage are not a fit for this role.
  • Senior product leadership experience, ideally including taking a slow, legacy, or multi-product organization and making it fast and focused.
  • Real fluency fusing product with design, UX, and frontend, and comfort operating through small, AI-accelerated pods rather than large traditional teams.
  • Sharp product judgment: you challenge assumptions, follow the data (lost deals, churn, usage), and tell a product problem apart from an execution problem.
  • Strong customer instinct. You get close to real end users and to the sales floor, not just to decision makers.
  • Clear, direct communication with executives, the board, and your team.
  • Bonus points: vehicle, mobility, logistics, dispatch, or marketplace software; payments or embedded-finance depth relevant to our monetization thesis.
How We Work

We are remote-first in the US and hire the best builders wherever they are. Expect regular travel to spend time with customers and your team. We move fast, we stay close to the people who use our software, and we are reshaping how an entire category builds product with AI. If that is the environment you want to lead in, we should talk.
