Job Description

The Vice President of Business Development at the YMCA drives revenue growth, corporate partnerships, and
community engagement. This position leads strategic fundraising, corporate wellness programs, and membership
sales to ensure long-term sustainability and is the main point of contact for Strategic Innovation, leading new
initiatives that drive early growth for strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, mission advancement, or nonprofit development
  • Demonstrated success in major gifts and relationship management.
  • Experience supervising fundraising professionals and managing performance toward goals.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with CEOs, board members, and high-level volunteers.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated success in corporate and foundation fundraising
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA.


Essential Functions

  • Identify service delivery opportunities, negotiate contracts, manage stakeholder relationships, and meet
    enrollment and financial goals.
  • Partner with senior leadership to execute and continuously refine a comprehensive, association-wide
    business development strategy aligned with organizational priorities, the strategic plan and community
    impact goals.
  • Cultivate a strong culture of philanthropy with community and business partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community partners.
  • Advocate for and implement creative strategies that leverage new programs and partnerships, and foster
    community-centric solutions, and promote collaboration across the association and partners.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and deliver exceptional value to partners, participants
    and members.
  • Generate actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and
    identify new growth opportunities. Present findings compellingly to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with
    organizational goals and driving a culture of informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain KPI reports related to lead generation, conversion, and follow-up performance, and
    partner with leadership to address trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Establish frameworks and operational infrastructure to ensure processes, contracting, and vendor
    relationships adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
